Oswego High School Marching Bucs Director Stephen Defren announced the “Leadership Awards” to four members of the “Pride of Oswego’ during the annual banquet
The Oswego High School Marching Buccaneers turned in one of their best performances of the season Sunday night as the best bands in the state competed one last time.
Oswego High School’s marching band stormed into Virginia for the weekend and came home with top prize. The Marching Buccaneers scored 82.20 to take first place among 9 schools at the James Madison University Parade of Champions.
“It’s great to see the children of former Marching Buccaneers involved in the band today. Their parents share the same pride as me, and I know it is a thrill for them to see their own kids carrying on the traditions they began many years before.”
Due to very poor weather conditions today the Pageant of Champions “Encore” performance by the Marching Buccaneers is being rescheduled to Oct. 14 at 8:30 p.m. on Joe Wilber Field.
Oswego’s Marching Buccaneers posted their best score of the field band season Saturday night at West Genesee.
The Bucs posted a score of 83.30 for its show, called “The Search”.

Oswego’s Marching Bucs turned in a solid performance Saturday at the Cicero-North Syracuse field band competition, making some improvement in its team score.
Entering the Oswego show are Auburn, East Irondequoit, Norwich, East Syracuse-Minoa, Jordan-Elbridge, Cicero-North Syracuse, West Genesee, Central Square, Victor, Webster and Liverpool.
The Fulton District Wide Storytelling Festival was held and storytellers from throughout the district showcased their talents in telling a wide variety of stories.
