The halls of Michael A. Maroun Elementary School were bustling with activity Sept. 24, as hundreds of parents, students, teachers and community members turned out for open house. According to Assistant Principal Diane Galster, the event is always well-attended.

Sara S. Heagerty, 37, of Oswego, died Friday September 19, 2014.
Martial A. Greco, 96, of Scriba, passed away Thursday morning September 25, 2014, at Oswego Hospital.
Ian R. Wills, 62, a resident of Oswego, passed away Wednesday September 24, 2014, at home, surrounded by his family.
Tom Decker is a student at the Syracuse Environmental Science and Forestry School and is working towards his Environmental Engineering degree. Tom received a Paul Harris Award at a Rotary district conference for his work in the rural Andean mountains of Peru. He spoke to the Fulton Rotarians about his project to electrify a small village of 30 homes in Peru.
In preparation of the National Fire Prevention Week October 5 – 11, the Oswego Fire Department will host an open house on October 4 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. The Oswego Fire Department headquarters, located at 35 E. Cayuga St., will be open to the public for tours and safety demonstrations.
