Oswego YMCA Announces Leadership Trio For Family, Children’s Programs
The Oswego YMCA is pleased to announce the appointment of three individuals to lead Family and Children’s programs.
The Oswego State field hockey team opened the 2016 slate at home with a stunning come-from-behind 3-2 overtime victory over Houghton College on Thursday afternoon at Laker Turf Stadium. Oswego’s win pushes the team to 1-0 on the year while the Highlanders start off 0-1.
The public is invited to join guest presenter, Jim D’Angelo, of Sterling Nature Center, on September 25, 2 p.m.for a fascinating presentation and discussion on dragonflies the Amboy 4-H Environmental Education Center, followed by a hunt for these insect Masters of the Sky.
Today (September 1), an Oswego County jury convicted William E. Newton, (DOB 7/22/83), of Fulton, of Arson in the Third Degree, a class C felony, and Reckless Endangerment in the Second Degree for intentionally setting fire to his 2002 Ford Explorer in the town of Granby on August 19, 2015.
The Oswego County Sheriff’s Office has reported two unrelated marijuana growing arrests in the town of Schroeppel. Both Paul D. Calderwood, 53, of 250 Barnard Rd. in Phoenix and Robert T. Holden, 55, of 271 Barnard Rd. in Phoenix were arrested on Tuesday, August 30 for “unlawfully growing marijuana,” on properties in the town of Schroeppel after a Border Patrol helicopter sighted the marijuana from the air, according to Oswego County Undersheriff, Eugene Sullivan.
