Football Fans Head To The Meadowlands With AAA

The start of the NFL season is underway, and football fever is clearly on the rise! AAA Western and Central New York is hosting a trip for Buffalo fans to cheer on the team on the road for the season opener. More than 40 fans have space reserved on the motorcoach that departs early Sunday morning from three locations in Western and Central New York.

The club also made a monetary donation to the program. Serving children and promoting education are two of the nine key causes addressed by Rotary International.

Today, U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand stood at Syracuse Community Health calling for legislation and nearly $180 million in federal funding to address the nation’s maternal mortality and maternal mental health crisis. The United States continues to have the highest rate of maternal mortality in the developed world, driven in large part by the high mortality rates among women of color. Gillibrand’s approach would support mothers at every step of their maternal health care journey and help address racial disparities in maternal health by awarding grants to grow and diversify the maternal health workforce and working to eliminate racial bias in maternal care.

Schumer today announced the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) has selected two Upstate New York-based projects: the NYS Microelectronics Defense Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Workforce (Upstate Defense) Consortium project, and Cornell University’s New York Consortium for Space Technology Innovation and Development (NYCST) as finalists for up to a $5 million investment each through its Defense Manufacturing Community Support (DMCS) program.
