Oswego Juvenile Charged With Menacing, Gun Threat

On Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at approximately 6:56 p.m., Officers from the Oswego City Police Department were dispatched to 195 E Bridge St., Fitzhugh Park Elementary school park, for a menacing complaint with a weapon. Officers were advised through E911 that an unknown male had displayed a gun to a group of juveniles that were in the park.

In 1968, President Lyndon Johnson established Hispanic Heritage Week to honor and celebrate the contributions and influence of Hispanic Americans to the history, culture, and achievements of the United States. Twenty years later, President Ronald Reagan expanded it to a month, from September 15 through October 15. Wreaths Across America’s (WAA) “Teach” program Curriculum Developer Cindy Tatum is excited to share new, free-to-download educator lesson plans for grades K-12 in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month.

Tom Drumm Launches Campaign For New York 50th State Senate District

Tom Drumm today announced his plan to run for State Senate in New York’s 50th district. The former Oswego County Democratic Minority Leader, Drumm is running in 2024 for what will be an open State Senate District seat, after current Senator John Mannion recently announced that he is running for congress. Drumm, who was first elected to the Oswego County Legislature at 22, would be the youngest person to occupy the 50th Senate District Seat in over two decades.

Trust But Verify – Drivers Learn To Use Vehicle Safety Tech, But On Their Terms

New research from the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety found that drivers who use advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) grow more comfortable with the technology over time – sometimes too comfortable.  After weeks of using ADAS, attention to driving tended to drop.  However, these drivers also used ADAS more when highway demands were lower.
