OSWEGO COUNTY – Oswego County Today presents the top stories from this past week.

City of Fulton news:

  • The city of Fulton Police Department will be ramping up efforts to enforce the New York state law that says motorists must stop when a pedestrian is in a crosswalk, as announced by Fulton Mayor Deana Michaels and Fulton Police Chief Mike Curtis. Full story here.
  • N.E.T. & Die, Inc. in Fulton is looking to relocate their multi-generational owned machine shop to the former K-Mart building site; the Fulton Common Council unanimously voted to apply for a RestoreNY Grant to jumpstart the company’s vision during a meeting, Tuesday, October 4. Full story here.
  • The Oswego County Community Services Board will host a “Make a Change” Hiring Event from 2 to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 18 at Catholic Charities of Oswego County, 808 West Broadway in Fulton. Full story here.

City of Oswego news:

  • The CNY Pumpkin Festival was held last weekend in Washington Square Park in Oswego from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. October 1-2. Photo gallery here.
  • The Oswego City School District Board of Education met on the evening of October 4, 2022, with all members present. Full story here.
  • Wednesday, October 5, the City of Oswego Drug Task Force along with the Oswego County Drug Task Force executed a search warrant on a residence in the city of Oswego. As a result of that search warrant, Adam L. Levea, age 42, of Oswego was arrested as it is alleged, he possessed 205 individual packages of heroin/fetanyl combination and five suboxone strips with intent to sell the same. Full story here.
  • The Friends of the Oswego Public Library, in collaboration with the Oswego Opera Theater and the Safe Haven Holocaust Refugee Shelter Museum, will host a special program featuring the story behind the re-discovery of the music and lyrics to “The Golden Cage,” an operetta composed by two of the refugees who lived at Fort Ontario’s Safe Haven from August 1944 until February 1946. Full story here.
