District Students Face Off With Seniors To Test Knowledge, Help Community
Girl Scout Claudia Chetney and sixth graders throughout the Oswego City School District are asking seniors at Bishop’s Commons “Are you smarter than a sixth grader?” The event taking place on Oct. 9, is part of Chetney’s Bronze Service Award and is modeled after the popular game show on TV. It’s open to the public and will collect canned or non-perishable goods at the door for donation to the local Human Concerns Center and Salvation Army.
Seniors, Scouts Send Care Packages To Troops Overseas
While residents of Bishop’s Commons took up collections of items to fill care packages for soldiers serving overseas, local Girl Scouts joined in the support by donating dozens of boxes of Girl Scout cookies.

Local Girl Scouts will hold a car wash at the Auto Zone, Route 104 East, on May 14. You are invited to bring your cars, vans and SUVs to the car wash, which includes a bake sale.

On Sunday morning, members of Troop 41 sold the famous Girl Scout Cookies at Paul’ Big M Market. Each of the girls in Troop 41 are working on their Gold Award, the equivalent of the Boy Scout Eagle award.
