Councilors Consider Grant Funding For OPD

At Monday nightâ€™s Administrative Services Committee, Mike Dehm, police chief, requested permission to reapply for the 2010 Community Oriented Polices Services Hiring Recovery Program. It’s a competitive grant program that provides funding directly to state, local and tribal law enforcement agencies nationwide. The department would have to keep the officer(s) for one year after the grant funding.

The new site has a more modern and uniform look to it. The new available features such as the current weather, events calendar and the ability to show picture slide shows and video is a tremendous advantage. Many features have been added, such as the ability to print handicapped and local parking permit applications as well as other forms, an expanded wanted section and an easier to read press release section.
