Mayor Barlow Announces Charles E. Gallagher Pool Opening June 26

Mayor Billy Barlow announced the Charles E. Gallagher public pool will open on Monday, June 26, 2022. Free public swimming will be held Monday through Friday, 12:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m, while Saturday and Sunday the pool will be open from Noon to 5:00 p.m. Free family swim will be held Monday through Friday 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Adults 18 and older must be present for family swimming.

Richard Murtaugh Inherits Highbank Holdup Sportsman Win

Fulton’s Richard Murtaugh has been awarded the win in Wednesday night’s Highbank Holdup Sportsman feature at Fulton Speedway after apparent winner Matt Janczuk failed to complete his obligations in post-race technical inspection. The third starting, Murtaugh got by pole sitter Jason Parkhurst Jr. midway through the race and gave chase to Janczuk to the drop of the checkered.

Senator Mannion Kicks Off Summer Libraries Tour By Announcing $20k To Support Fayetteville Free Library’s Summer Reading And Community Programs

Senator John W. Mannion today kicked off his Summer Libraries Tour by announcing $20,000 for the Fayetteville Free Library to support summer reading and other community programs. In the state budget, Senator Mannion secured a year-over-year increase of $100,000 for libraries in his district ($80,000 – $180,000.)

Travel Advisory: State Route 31 In The Village Of Baldwinsville To Close For Up To One Week

The New York State Department of Transportation is advising motorists that State Route 31 in the Village of Baldwinsville will be closed beginning Monday, June 26, between Spruce Street and Mechanic Street to allow for CSX to perform railroad repairs on the grade level crossing in the village. The closure is expected to last up to one week.

Governor Hochul Announces Major Milestone For South Fork Wind With Installation Of First Offshore Foundation At New York’s First Offshore Wind Farm

Governor Kathy Hochul today announced that South Fork Wind, New York’s first offshore wind farm, has achieved its “steel in the water” milestone with the installation of the project’s first monopile foundation. In the coming days, South Fork Wind will install the project’s U.S.-built offshore substation. The project remains on-track to become America’s first utility-scale offshore wind farm to be completed in federal waters when it begins operations by the end of this year and supports the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act goal to develop 9,000 megawatts of offshore wind by 2035.
