History On Tap’ Highlights Urban Renewal In The Port City

Fort Ontario State Historic Site presents its next “History on Tap” event with Oswego City Historian Mark Slosek. The Wednesday, Sept. 6 program highlights urban renewal on Oswego’s west side. It begins at 7 p.m. in the Riverview Room at G.S. Steamers Restaurant, in the Clarion Inn, 70 E. First St., Oswego. Admission is free.

Kristin Shanley-Graves, the Democratic candidate for Oswego City Court Judge, is kicking off September with an endorsement announcement from the United Auto Workers Region 9 CNY Community Action Program Council. The Community Action Program of the UAW (CAP) is the union’s non-partisan political arm. It is a department of the International Union. It is not a political party and it is not tied to a political party. It endorses candidates, on the basis of their records and their stand upon issues that affect working Americans.

From Sept. 1 to Sept. 30, Price Chopper/Market 32 customers will be given the opportunity to round up their change at checkout, 100% of which will go directly to EmbraceRace. Price Chopper/Market 32 will match all funds raised, up to $10,000.
